Brunch at Azur

Erm, yep, another food post.... Very soon I would have to relabel my blog from "lifestyle" to "food and ootd". Haha. So anyway, this entry is extremely backdated! I have been busy the previous month and I have been lazy this month :x

Carrie invited me, the girls and our partners to Azur Restaurant located at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport to try their newly unveiled weekend brunch menu! Let me start off the entry with OOTD photos.

I am absolutely in love with this light-yellow dress from Smitten at www.jipaban.com! Especially love the embroidery patterns. I usually give away or sell my clothes after one-time wearing but there is a small selection of dresses that I really like and keep for a long time. This is definitely one of the dresses I would keep in my wardrobe.


My bracelet is also from www.jipaban.com! It looks like 3 layers of different bangles but actually it's one long piece! Very versatile and pretty piece. Like it a lot and have been wearing it often.

Feeling very happy because it's finally the weekends again! ^_^ Really need to catch up on sleep because I have been sleeping very little for the past week.

Another thing that I am quite happy about is that within a week, I got myself 6 pairs of new shoes.... 1 flats and 5 heels/wedges. Can't wait to walk around in them! On one side I am quite lazy and wants to go home straightaway after work everyday but on the other side I also want to dress up and go out because I have not met my friends for super long! Finally meeting the girls tomorrow though... so that's good!

On Labour day last week, we went out with the family and grand parents to celebrate my grandma's birthday. Lunch was this udon place at Ngee Ann City.


Dinner was yummy buffet at Vienna! Ate lots of crab - 3 types, to be exact. I love crabs! But it has been ages since I last ate my favorite white pepper crab... Think got more than a year! :-( Vienna doesn't have white pepper crab.

Sigh, why talk about crabs. Now I'm thinking of White Pepper Crab, Salted Egg Yolk King Prawn, Steamed Garoupa, Sambal Sotong. Wah~~~ Perfect meal...

It's always fun to have my baby cousin around when we go out~! He's so adorable. Haha.



Dress of the day! The moment I set my eyes on it I knew I had to get it. Love the prints, the color, and the pretty collar! Best thing is? It is only 15.80!!!


From the same store I got the piece above, I also selected this pink floral top ($16.90) with cut-out at the shoulder. Lovely for a casual day out!


Another piece was this black classic dress. I didn't have a dress like this in my wardrobe! I have too many sleeveless and casual designs at home, so sometimes it's quite difficult for me to find an appropriate dress for some occasions. This piece, only $16.40.

I love mandopop!

Today's entry is going to be quite random. One fine day, me and bf went to Plaza Singapura hoping to have lunch at Tim Ho Wan, the highly-raved dimsum place that just arrived at our shores! No such luck, the queue was extremely long! Settled for Kazokutei at Tokyo Walker.



My kimchi soup is awesome! Bf's bowl of Pork Kimuchi Nabeyaki looked extremely appetizing with the egg on top but my Chicken Kimuchi Nabe Gozen tasted better! Super enjoyed my lunch, except that the sushi were quite disappointing. Have been craving salmon sushi all the time these few weeks so I ordered a plate in addition to the assorted ones that came with my set. So full in the end!!



After lunch, we watched "Judgement Day"! Quite nice la the show. Chua En Lai is super funny in it. Haha. So anyway, as the title suggests, it is a movie about the end of the world. So after the movie I asked bf how he would spend the last 3 days before the end of the world and he said he would spend the time sleeping. Crazy! Lol.

Since this entry is already so random, let me just add two more photos from quite some time back! Had a good chatting session with Ben and Randy over frozen yogurt! Actually want chat awhile only in the end chat until so late, I need to take cab home!! I clearly remembered that earlier on I was very determined not to take cab home that day! Haha.





Actually the title has nothing to do with this entry. Haha. I wrote that because while writing this, I'm also listening to some mandopop songs by Taiwanese singers and suddenly feel the urge to say that I will always love mandopop the most. I grew up in an era when mandopop was popular, so everytime I listen to familiar mandopop songs I have a lot of feelings. And everytime I hear awesome lyrics (which is like, 7 out of 10 songs), I keep wanting to declare my love for mandarin song lyrics but then I remember that I have repeatedly expressed it so many times before already so I stop myself in time. Haha. But really lor, some lyrics are so beautifully written!

Ikoi Japanese Restaurant

This entry is so backdated! More than a month back, bf and I celebrated our first year anniversary at Ikoi, located at Miramar Hotel.



Reason was, I had craving for Japanese food throughout that week and a Japanese buffet sounds like a good idea! So, we shortlisted several choices and ended up with Ikoi.





We ate so much! Let me elaborate just some.



We were served some 'complimentary' appetizers at the start of the meal. What I don't understand is why it is specially called 'complimentary' when during a buffet, everything is 'complimentary'. Haha. I love ala-carte buffets by the way. In my opinion, usually ala-carte buffet have better quality food than self-serve buffets. However, the downside to ala-carte buffets is that sometimes it's difficult to constantly get the attention of the staff and on other times, some orders get forgotten. It would be great if it is computerized like Sakae Sushi!

So anyway, these two are the 'complimentary' appetizers.

I didn't eat this. Not keen.


But this, salmon sashimi soaked in some soy sauce mixture, was HEAVENLY. Too bad that this dish is limited to only 1 per person, else I would probably order 5 more.


I heard the sashimi here is good and indeed the salmon was very fresh and yums!


Didn't particularly like the other type of sashimi aside from Salmon. Perhaps it's just me.

Ikoi serves a wide range of Japanese food, from sushi, sashimi, fried, grilled, etc! They also have mini versions of ramen, udon, and rice dishes. These are only so-so though. Food is not top-notch but good enough to satisfy my craving for Japanese food ^_^






Apparently many celebrities visited this restaurant. The photos are plastered all over the wall.

It was a nice and simple anniversary dinner with bf! We are now more than a month past one year. Time pass extremely fast! I just want to say... thanks for being my pillar of support through these times :)
