Loysel's Toy

I have many other backlogs but I choose to blog about the recent ones first! Haha. In case I forget the details again!

Bf made breakfast for me last weekend! The sausage was not fully cooked inside though..... but thumbs up for effort! (I mean, effort for trying to make me suffer food poisoning... haha kidding lah, effort for waking up early and wasting so many eggs to get the scrambled eggs right!) I re-fried the sausages and ate every single piece!

Went to Loysel's Toy for an early morning date with bf last Sunday! The place is quite isolated and not easy to find. However, I loved the ambiance. It makes me feel carefree and fresh!

Our orders:

Big L's Breakfast ($15). Consist of everything you see on this plate here.

Eggs Benedict ($12). Hadn't had one in a long time so we ordered it! The remembered that the Big L's Breakfast was nothing spectacular but the Eggs Benedict was quite nice.

Cafe Latte as usual, Baby cino and Apple Juice for bf.

Love laidback mornings like this.

Bf took photos around the place too. So happy to have him around. I haven't been taking photos using my own camera for a long time. Hehe.

Wah, got abstract photo of myself. Haha.

Loving my floral top from LYRAMINN! The colors are so pleasing and I felt so comfy in it. Join the mailing list before purchasing to get 10% off items storewide and an additional 5% if you quote "ESTXIE5"! LYRAMINN also offers FREE normal postage!

I forgot to bring my mobile phone out that day!!! Only found out when we were about to reach, so I decided to go without it for a day. Had so many instagram-worthy moments but couldn't do so!!! Couldn't tahan so I used bf's ipad to take the instagram photo below. Such a hassle to log in and out of our accounts and I ended up accidentally posting to his facebook as well. The caption was "Lovely brunch time with bf". Haha!

Mustard Knits

Hi everyone~ It was a busy week! I'm glad I scheduled enough entries for this blog in advance, so I didn't have to stress over updating this space! I spent my free time watching TV instead haha. I am totally loving the 9pm drama "Beyond". So sad that tomorrow is the finale. I hope there's a sequel!

So anyway, this another short outfit entry from this week.

Top: Mustard Knit
Re-wore this old top (got it in early 2012 and already worn once so it's considered old haha) that I found in my wardrobe. Seriously very warm in it although it's quite sheer! Was trying to find something to wear with the pair of shorts and thought that this mustard knit top is quite a good match for the shorts. My hair is in a mess because I felt that the bra showing was quite unsightly and wanted to use my hair to cover it. Fail lah, hair not thick enough. Haha.

It was a forgetful day. Forgot to wear tube inside, forgot to wear a long necklace for the plain top.

Shorts: Flag shorts from EarthDoll at Bukit Panjang Plaza [#03-21]

Bag: Studded bag from Lacquar

Close-up shot. Nails painted in new gelish color from Millys at Bugis (Call 6338 4137 for appointment)! Lots of new colors and I had a hard time choosing! This color is perfect for CNY in my opinion. The pink is sweet and easily matches with any outfit, especially those floral dresses. The tone is also very unique! Plus, Gelish lasts longer than normal nail polish so if you hate jostling with the crowd nearer to CNY, doing your CNY nails early is fine too.

Fullhouse

When I found out that Fullhouse opened a franchise in Singapore last year, I told bf that I definitely want to try it some day. We finally went to this theme cafe one day for lunch. Actually, this happened months back but I was too lazy to sort the photos because I took a lot! Finally finished compiling the best ones, so enjoy this pictorial entry!

There are different sections depicting different rooms of a home. We sat at an isolated pretty window side!

This room in the photo below was behind us.

The furnishings are exceptionally pretty! Wish my house was decorated this way too! If I had the money, I would want to book some place like this for my birthday party or something. Will be a very nice backdrop for photos!

The clocks were all so pretty! This is only one of them.

Couldn't resist and took many photos around the place!

Ogopogo Cafe

After bf brought me to visit "Kampong Mimpi", we went to meet up with Alvin to have dinner!

The place we initially planned for was quite packed when we reached there, but we spotted Ogopogo nearby and decided to have our dinner at Ogopogo instead. I'm glad we did!

Ogopogo is quite interesting!

The first thing I noticed was this - "Chope Liao!" So cute!

And the drink menu, was in the form of a jotter book. Not only that, every single item inside the menu was handwritten very neatly. *gasp*

Spotted an ex-colleague at the cafe too! Such a coincidence and surprised that she remember me :)

Some snaps of the decor:

Check out the "dai gor dai"!!!! And the cameras!

I had ice cafe latte ($4.50) even though it was nearing night time already.

The boys had these fruit flavor carbonated drinks. They had lovely names! Aqua Bubbles ($6.90, passionfruit & curacao) and Tangerine Sunset ($6.90, passionfruit, grapefruit, orange). And only after the dinner I discovered the reason why my boyfriend chose "Aqua Bubbles" is because he felt it had some link to his diving hobby..... -_-"

I don't know why, but they ordered two drinks each. Alvin got himself these bottle of Tutti Frutti Pear Cider.  By the way, I just remembered something. In the car, the boys were disagreeing with me when I said I find Vivian Hsu very pretty!!! I thought all guys like this type of girls? Vivian Hsu is like a whole package lor, cute yet feminine and angelic-looking yet at the same time alluring.

And bf was attracted by these special drinks! He was contemplating between Graveyard Shift and Witch's Sin (Chocolate cookie+Fruits??? How will it taste?!!!) and he finally chose the former after recommendation from the staff.

His Graveyard Shift ($6.90). It has a soury sweet taste. I like it! It's actually just a repeat of his Aqua Bubbles, add grenadine and soda....

Oh, I want to elaborate more about their food. They have choices of 4 menus - Ogopogo, Italian (Pasta & Pizza), Burger, Middle Eastern. Items from Ogopogo are prepared by themselves, while the other 3 menus are food served by other restaurants in the vicinity. I thought that was quite an unique idea! Definitely good for a bunch of friends who have differing taste in food. Me for example, was craving for Middle Eastern kebab before that but the boys seem disinterested. I was so happy to see it available on the menu! Haha.

My final main course choice, Zesty Chicken Lover ($13.90), was from the Italian menu though. I was spoilt for choice! It is kinda of like Aglio Olio. I give it a so-so grade, as the sauce starts to become quite dry midway through the meal.

Bf had Quack Doctor ($11.90), a quirky-named item from the Ogopogo menu. The duck was marinated well and flavorsome.

Alvin had this carbonara beef pepperoni pasta called Sunny side up ($15.90). Before ordering I asked him what he was going to order and he said "Sunny side up".... Lol for a moment I thought he was going to order 2 fried eggs for dinner! Afterwards bf, who was away from the table when I asked Alvin, asked him the same question and had the same reaction. hahaha.

For sides, we ordered Hummus Shawarma ($15), from the middle eastern menu. Chickpea, lamb and pita bread. Midway through, the boys commented that the lamb tasted like beef. I don't eat beef, so I was quite taken aback. I took a bite and said confidently "nope, it tastes like lamb..." After like 5 minutes, I said "but the lamb taste quite mild...." *starting to get suspicious* Then I said "I can't judge because I'm not a beef eater, I don't really know how beef taste like actually. Maybe this is beef." Haha. Well, the mystery was never solved. The staff said it's lamb upon looking at it.... but I never touched it again after the conversation.

Before the dinner I was craving for fried calamari rings ($9) and ended up quite disappointed by these . It was quite bland and too floury.

The desserts were also named quite funnily! Everyday I'm Truffleing, Ogopogo's toothpaste, etc!

Go check it out if you are near Arab street/Haji Lane area! The ambiance was cozy and the service is good!

Kampong Mimpi

I am quite hooked on the 9 o'clock dramas on Channel 8 recently. After lots of laughter watching "It Takes Two", I have been following "Beyond X元素", starring Jeanette Aw, Lee Nan Xing and Pierre Png. I don't watch it everyday but whenever I do, I find myself extremely intrigued by the story-line. Sometimes I find the script a little draggy, but I think it's only because I can't wait till the next episode to get the explanation and find out what's really going on. I kept trying to come up with logical explanations for the happenings! Haha. And, it is also quite ridiculous that so many absurd things happen around the female lead one after the other... But still, I find myself looking forward to each episode of the drama! At first I was quite appalled by Jeanette Aw's acting cute for her character but after awhile I find her quite cute! Haha. Love how she uses common Singaporean-language instead of proper mandarin sentences... Anyway, why is Pierre Png so charming? I think it has something to do with the fact that he always play those loving, devoted characters.

Oh and, I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the theme song!

Recently there was this chapter about "Kampong Mimpi", something about how it's a dream dimension. Her father claims that his life in the dream at Kampong Mimpi is the real thing and the real world is a dream. It's very interesting!

After that I went to translate the word 'Mimpi' and it's actually 'Dream' in english! Haha!

My boyfriend has been watching the series too and he told me he recognize the scenes where they filmed the Kampong and brought me there one day! He told me that this is the last-surviving village in Singapore.

For a person like me who grew up in the urban city, it's like entering a whole different world!

Took some photos with the Kampong as background!

Dress is from Earthdoll (located at Bukit Panjang Plaza #03-21). Wide range of apparels, mostly priced affordably from $10 - $15. Check them out if you are around the area! If this dress is still available at the store, I think it is very suitable for the upcoming Lunar New Year! Without being too red and striking, the color is mild yet bright enough for festive cheer! Plus, can wear it many times more after the Lunar New Year as it is a very versatile and simple design!
