Casual Sunday

Yesterday, I went over to Far East Plaza to eat at the famous chicken rice stall at level 5. I have not ate there for very long already, almost forgot about it! My love for its chicken has rekindled. Next time I do my nails at Millys Far East Plaza Branch, I'm gonna have chicken rice upstairs!

Ordered both the steam chicken and roasted chicken. Both are awesome. I can't choose between the two! Also had salted duck soup and soy egg. So yums!

Far East Plaza is so quiet recently, unlike a couple of years back when it was always crowded. I wonder why! The clothes are cheaper now though, plus can try in dressing room even for items that are lower than $20! Next time I don't feel like squeezing with the crowd at Bugis Street, I'll come here. I got a floral high waist short from one of the shops. I've wanted to get one for quite some time but did not dare to buy the cheap ones at Bugis Street (because cannot try first) and online in case it doesn't fit me. So happy I found one that fits nicely!

Wandered around the basement and it has changed quite a bit! Saw a bubble tea shop that didn't catch my eye but my friend wanted to try a drink from the shop so we got ourselves Honey Green Milk Tea. It was quite nice!

Forgot to wear accessory out, so I anyhow bought one at $2.

Outfit of the day: Dress from DRESSDOWNFRIDAY at JIPABAN.COM

It is not only suitable for dress down days, I think it is also suitable for work days!

I love the flair at the chest area, adding some detail to a simple dress.

It is also available in another color. I browsed around DRESSDOWNFRIDAY at Jipaban and found quite a number of chic and simple designs that are very wearable, be it a work day or week end. I'm getting a few more pieces from Dressdownfriday. Stay tuned!

Scallop and Smoke Salmon

Besides the truffle mushroom soup and crab bisque, my favorite is the chef's platter. Hope all 3 items for the this dish will never change because it has always been the course I look forward to the most when I dine here!

I've always been ordering the same stuff here because I like what I ate but this time I tried the Kurobuta Pork Cheek with Onion Jam. The texture was soft and good, but the taste wasn't as fantastic. I think I prefer my usual Baked Atlantic Cod Fillet. That shall be my main again on my next visit.

Hippo River Cruise

Took at ride on the Hippo River Cruise at Clarke Quay some weeks back.

These yellow ones look cool but nope, the one I sat on was not so modern. You can see it on the far left of this photo below.

Me onboard with the river view behind me! Most of the passengers were tourists. I guess no Singaporeans would be so boliao like me go try out the ride. Haha.

The ride itself was nothing much (the original price of $18 per adult is definitely not worth it in my opinion) but it gets more interesting when we were out in the bigger part of the river. Lots of beautiful structures.

Do you work in one of these office buildings?

Actually after I sat on the Sgflyer last month and this hippo river cruise, I feel that Singapore is really getting more and more beautiful! Speaking of Singapore, I'd be at the NDP preview tonight with Isaac, Ben and Randy. I can't wait for the songs and fireworks! I managed to catch some of the fireworks that happened at last week's preview and it was so pretty!

My lovely lace dress is from http://missqueenie.com. The material is very comfy!

One last photo of myself, in the same position same pose. Lol.

Kombi Rocks

I only found out about Kombi Rocks earlier this year when I was looking for cute and interesting places to dine in Singapore.

It is located around Serangoon area and was originally Koon Kee Restaurant before the revamp.

So anyway, it was on my to-try list but I did not really take action on it. Then last week I saw it featured on TV and decided to have it for lunch during the weekend. Went on Sunday lunch hour, so it was kinda crowded. Didn't manage to have good photos of the interior.

Had YouC1000 Vitamin-C drink. It came as half a mug! Ordered coconut drink too (which I didn't get to try because my drink is so nice).

The food here should be classified under zhi-char + Thai fusion. I had the Thai Fishcake which was $4 for a dish of 3 pieces. I like it.

The minced meat omelette was so-so. I definitely had tasted better ones elsewhere. Also had the seafood horfun. My favorite part was that the prawn was juicy and quite meaty!

Tofu with special Thai Sauce. The tofu was soft and the crispy skin was yums!

They also have old-school vehicles parked outside the restaurant!

I was seated in front of this car. The chef took this Porsche out to buy groceries!

A few old bikes were laying around in different corners of the restaurant. Quite cute ya? Suitable for photoshoots! I heard that their vehicles are available for rent, mostly for wedding photoshoots.

Ladylike heels for the day. I seldom wear such heels!

I'm not kidding when I say my face has become rounder. Seriously, check out the double chin :((

But luckily, my dress is so pretty that people will be looking at it instead of my double chin. Haha.

Crochet day dress is from SMITTEN at JIPABAN.COM!

The item description stated on the online store was spot-on and everything I had to say:
This darling of a dress features feminine crochet details in the front, lined, and comes with an elasticized waist. Great for those Sunday morning brunch sessions, and looks good with both heels and flats.

It's such an easy thing to wear, perfect for school too. I was torn between pink and the navy blue one which it also comes in. It also comes in cream and grey.... and the pink one is last piece now. Fastest fingers wins.

Modmarket Flea

Last weekend I was at Homeclub for Modmarket's flea. I experienced really good service from the Modmarket people. Like helping to carry my heavy box of clothes, offering to buy drinks, asking us how's everything, etc. They have another flea coming up at the same place on 21st this month, so you if you are interested to have a booth you may contact Modmarket - more information on: www.facebook.com/modmarketsg

Wore this pretty floral dress I selected from Smitten at Jipaban.com!

I LOVE THIS DRESS!!!!! The comfy material and pretty floral prints really made my day brighter haha. I couldn't help but keep staring at myself in the reflection whenever I walk pass reflective walls, transparent windows, etc. Check out the short front and long back.

Paired with these accessories. On my nails - new gelish color from Millys.

Took this photo below using the Iphone and uploaded to Instagram (Nick: theiceangel). I think the photo is quite nice so I'm reposting it here.

The necklace is from MissQueenie. What a beautiful find! I think it'd be easy to wear it with most of my outfits + complete my look.

Strawberry Banana Pancakes

Are you sick of the food entries yet? Hope you are not, because today's entry will be sugary sweet food!

Decided to try making pancakes yesterday...

Went to the supermarket to buy ingredients. Actually, I play cheat one. I bought the pancake mix. $4.55 only. There were two types - one that you have to add egg and milk, another one only have to add water. I chose the latter :x

The other ingredients weren't expensive too. Besides the pancake mix, I also got fruits like banana ($0.86) and strawberries ($4+).

I forgot the price for icing sugar, but we only need a bit of it so you can keep the packet for future baking use.

For the pancake, just follow the instructions on the box! There were two sachets in each box, you have to mix one sachet with 250ML of water. For the first batch I made, it was a disaster as the pancake would burn as soon as I pour it onto my pan. My fire was already very low! In the end I realize that I accidentally poured 300ML of water into the powder instead of the instructed 250ML. My math really fail! I used a measuring cup 160ML and 140ML I thought it adds up to 250ML -_-

Fun part was cutting the fruits! I personally prefer eating strawberries in cubes but due to time constraints, I just cut each into half. Look very pretty too.

For bananas, I just slice it.

My pancakes were really ugly but decorating it with the icing sugar and fruits made the whole dish very appealing! Afterwards, add maple syrup!

Try making it for your family too!

Anyway, I totally love the cropped top I wore in this entry! It's so sweet and summery, perfect for a day out at the beach. You know what I like most about it? The shoulder cut-out. Very pretty! If you are into cropped tops at well, there is a wide range of designs at Smitten, available at www.JIPABAN.com
