Our Wedding Banquet & Playlist

Photos from our typical wedding banquet!

Moment before our first march in....

The best moment for me that day, was our first march in. It was a special and magical feeling having all my loved ones cheering for us while we walked down the aisle. We walked in to "How Long Will I Love You"... We chose this song for its romantic lyrics and melody! We wanted to walk in slowly but after looking at our actual day video, I realize we walked quite fast. Haha.

For our first course presentation, we decided to do something different. Instead of the gaudy music usually used with flashy lights, we decided to go for a funny Hokkien song '痴情玫瑰花'! We liked that it's like a more modern version of an old fashioned song, which fits the tradition of a Chinese banquet! It's also a love song, so quite appropriate also!

While the rest were served their deluxe appetizer, we had a surprise for one table - his NCC friends! They were issued food rations, an inside joke with the screenshot of a related passing comment that one of them said in a facebook post a long time ago. Bet he forgotten all about it already before this!

Of course they still got to eat the real deluxe appetizer in the end. lol.

Caught Audrey and Chelsea for a photo outside the ballroom when I got back after changing my gown for 2nd march in!

I got Shannon and Jaye to be my emcees and I got several guests asking me if I hired professional hosts! Shannon speaks good English and Jaye, in charge of the Chinese script, has a radio-dj worthy voice. Am so lucky to have talented friends! I knew right from the start that I wanted both of them to be my emcees and I'm thankful for their help!

For our 2nd march in, we walked in to "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You", because it's our proposal song~

I initially wanted to not have any smoke machine for our march in but then decided that it will not affect much so I let it be. However after looking at these photos I really regret having it! It's too much until cannot see my gown clearly :(

Morning highlights by Istudio Productions on screen. Will share the videos with you all soon!

With his family...

With my family...

With the lehbin peeps missing Amber! When I first know them, the two babies in this pic weren't even created yet and now we have 5 kids in the clique!

The bloggers' table - not everyone here is a blogger but I got to know them through blogging somehow! Photo missing Elaine, who had to leave earlier! Luckily we managed to take photos together at the photobooth!

And this table, my closest friends from way way way back! Except Clare, but she's crazy like my girls so she fits in here.

Everyone I invited has a meaningful place in my heart so I'm happy that all the friends who said they'd come really showed up! I didn't have to deal with any last minute cancellations with crappy excuses - thank goodness!

This is me rescuing my husband from his evil friends who want him to down alcohol. hahaha.

Time flew by and it was time to say goodbye already!

A family photo but missing my uncle's family as he went off already.

Many of my guests commented that they love my playlist so I shall share it here!

I was very careful in picking out my songs and even went to check all the lyrics to make sure everything is positive first! Haha. Most are Chinese songs though, I resonate with them better more!

We are not those romantic type of couple and we expect that the wedding would be more celebratory than formal, so we had mostly happy upbeat songs!

I segmented my playlist into 3 sets. All these songs can be found on Spotify!

1) Pre-banquet Background Music
Songs on loop while guests take their seats. Most of them are the same type of romantic love songs that I do not have particular attachment for.... so I put them into this set. Haha.

- Fly Me to the Moon, Olivia Ong
- La Vie En Rose, Daniela Andrade
- L-O-V-E, Olivia Ong
- Lover's Concerto, Kelly Chen
- Bubbly, Colbie Caillat
- Have I Told You Lately, Rod Stewart
- Can't Help Falling in Love, Haley Reinhart

2) 1st Half of Wedding

Emcee's introduction to the wedding:
- 嫁给我,杜德伟

1st March In:
- How Long Will I Love You, Ellie Goulding

Cake Cutting:
- 结婚进行曲, 世界名曲古典珍藏集Vol.14
- A Moment Like This, Kelly Clarkson

First Course Presentation:
- 痴情玫瑰花,Underlover (Hokkien)

The first song is my top favourite, I feel very touched whenever I listen to this song! Songs in this list are mostly just sweet, in-love type of songs that aren't too upbeat nor too slow!
- 我结婚了,钟嘉欣 (Cantonese)
- Through The Years, Kenny Rogers
- Two Less Lonely Poeple In The World, Air Supply
- 喜欢你,陈洁仪
- 最重要的约定,范玮琪
- Because You Loved Me, Celine Dion
- Marry Me, Jason Derulo
- 简单爱,周杰伦
- Beautiful in White, Matt Johnson
- Will You Marry Me?, June Seung Jin (Korean)
- Top of The World, Carpenters
- Endless Love, Lionel Richie
- From This Moment On, Shania Twain

3) 2nd Half of Wedding

2nd March In:
- Nothing's Going to Change My Love For You, Westlife

Champagne Toast
- Love Me Like You Do, Ellie Goulding
- I Knew I Loved You, Savage Garden

Couple's Speech
- 就是爱你,陶喆

I liked the intro of this song, so it marks the start of the rest of the set! Most of the songs are upbeat and happy songs, with a series of duets and ending off the wedding with celebratory songs!
- Touch My Heart, 罗志祥
- Will You Marry Me, June Seung Jin
- 爱的就是你,王力宏
- Beautiful Love, 蔡健雅
- Shut Up and Dance, Walk The Moon
- I Don't Want To Miss a Thing, Aerosmith

We had the pleasure of collaborating with some amazing vendors for our wedding and I'm ever so thankful for the sponsorship and support given. Each of them made my wedding much better than I expected.

Sudio Giveaway

Fresh blooms from Abetterflorist! Flowers are prepared on request with same day, island wide free delivery. Perfect for spontaneous surprises (or when you forget an important date)! I really like that the arrangements offered are vibrant and modern, with frequent new selections to choose from!

Also received these in the mail! Swedish lifestyle brand, SUDIO (specializes in designing premium earphones with studio quality sound) is introducing their new wireless earphone, VASA BLÅ, and is giving away one to a lucky reader! Scroll down for more details!

I chose one in my favourite pink and it came with a matching handmade leather case to keep the earpiece! Other colours include Black, White, and Blue.

They also sent me this pretty marble phone cover which I'm currently using! Seasonal offer: Complimentary summer tote bag with every purchase!

A little bit about the Vasa Blå, it's probably the lightest wireless earphones in the market now weighing only 14g but has an amazing 8 hours battery life. It also has 4 different-sized earbuds to ensure the perfect fit for every individual. I love how it's less likely to tangle!

To win one for yourself (colour of your choice!), just do the following:
- Follow @theiceangel and @sudiosweden on Instagram
- Comment on the IG posto with "I want a Sudio earpiece!" to win.

Tips for Hong Kong Free And Easy

Am planing the itinerary for my family trip to Hong Kong and I need some tips for the following!

- Airport transfer: take cab or pre-book private car? Any reliable vendor? My grandparents are coming along so we prefer not to take bus/train.

- Ferry to Macau: How does it work? Should I go for Cotai jet or Turbojet? Should I pre-book?

- Macau: I'd be there for a day only. How do I get around? Wanna visit the St. Paul ruins area and the Venetian casino stretch. Any ideal schedule?

- Hong Kong: We already saw all the major attractions during our previous trip, what else is there to do or eat?

Would greatly appreciate if you can email me some recommendations! the-ice-angel@hotmail.com

Many thanks in advance!

Green Hair at Zeal Salon

Taking a break from all that wedding entries. So many photos to sort for the banquet and I'm feeling lazy already! Haha.

So anyway, I've always had long hair but due to the wedding, I allowed it to grow beyond my usual length so that it can still be long after being curled. Eventually, it became too much to handle and for once, I can't wait to get it shortened!

Right after the wedding and honeymoon, I went to Zeal Salon and asked to bleach my hair and dye it green. Why green? Because I've done red, blue, blonde, gold, pink, purple, but never done green before. So green it shall be! My hairstylist also helped to trim my hair and it was back to the perfect length. Suddenly I don't want to cut anymore! And the thing is, the more I bleach, the smoother my hair became. Actually I wanted to bleach and damage the lower part of the hair before I cut (make the cut worth it) but in the end my plan backfired. Haha.

After it faded, I went for another dye session and it became this gorgeous shade of dark teal. Super love! It would be nicer if I dyed the entire head this colour but I didn't want to bleach everything.

And last month, I finally got my hair snipped off! How do I look? Hehe.

Only $99 for haircut + dye at @zealsalon, ANY LENGTH. Call 63330337 to enquire and appointment for this promo!

Photo Booth by Fourstops

We had a photo booth set up by Fourstops at our wedding and I'm super in love with all our printouts! My guests had so much fun with the photo booth while waiting for the banquet to start.

It was amusing to see my grandparents taking photos at the booth too!

My mum and her friends! They don't always take photos together like that during usual gatherings so it was a good opportunity to have a nice one taken!

We came down late and it was almost time to start the banquet but I made sure I had snaps taken at the photo booth first! Most of my friends have already went into the ballroom but I had them come back out. Hahaha.

Me and my pretty bridesmaids!

With my mother's clique.

.
There is a big monitor right in front so that guests can easily check out how they look and adjust their pose! The crew in charge will also help to adjust your position to ensure the photos turn out nice! There were some photos with twelve pax squeezed in a single shot but no backdrop edges captured in frame. That shows how professional they are!

High quality instant prints are then slotted into envelopes for guests' collection. They also keep hi-res images in digital format for the couple to download via an online link after the wedding. This makes it easier for couples to share these soft copy photos with families and friends too. By the way, the printouts are UNLIMITED!! Just take as many shots as you please!

There are several backdrops to choose from, ranging from solid colours to glam glittery gold, you can definitely find something that fits your theme! I chose light wood plants to match our dreamy garden theme. There is also a darker version of this wood design available but I wanted something more girly than earthy so I chose this one.

Okay, UNLIMITED PRINTS, WIDE RANGE OF BACKGROUNDS, PROFESSIONAL CREW, what else?

PHOTO QUALITY.

This is the most important. There are plenty of vendors out there but honestly, very few of them deliver quality results. I've been to many events and weddings and honestly, some of them have horrible printouts. Sometimes the photos turn out dark and grainy, sometimes too bright, sometimes the lighting is so bad and unflattering on everyone's face, sometimes the frame looks detached from the photo, etc. Generally just very meh and phone camera quality.

So my main criteria for our photo booth was that it MUST churn out high-quality printouts. Else what's the point, might as well ask my photographer to take the photos, even better.

To be honest, I have never heard of Fourstops Photobooth before my sister's friend recommended them but I knew I wanted them the moment I saw the photos they took at previous events. Apparently they are very popular in the industry and it's not hard to see why!

Just look at these snaps. Well lit, sharp, and consistent. I think this is their major strength and the reason why they are so highly recommended. The printouts look EXACTLY like these too. Really, it's very important to have good photos if you are going to pay hundreds for a photo booth.

With my lovely bridesmaids.

Randy, Ben, and Isaac!

Dearest girlfriends I met through blogging.

Got the groom in for a shot too!

My favourite clique, missing Amber.

Solo pics with each bridesmaid, except for Chelsea who was busy running after baby Brooklyn. Hahahaha. Same pose for all because I found the best angle and stayed there throughout. Hehe.

Mum's friends~

With Cassandra~

Bride and groom with Ruoxuan and her beau.

And most importantly, my family!

I'm glad we had a photobooth else I don't think we have time for such nice photos once the banquet starts! Selfies are just not the same!

And what's a photobooth without cutesy props?  There were plenty to choose from! Fourstops can also CUSTOMIZE PROPS for different couples too. For example, the wedding logo, or if you both met in school, then can have a school-theme prop, or if you are both air crews, can have a huge passport cut out, etc.

My cousins playing around with the unique props!

Sophie looking sweet with bunny ears!

Cardboard props~

And finally, a photo of us with me holding a huge Xi and him exclaiming that he survived the gatecrash! hehe.

Besides photo booths, Fourstops also have roving photography packages, IG hashtag instaprints, live projection, and other services!
