12 days before Christmas with Jipaban

Advertorial:

(Please wait for the image to load, it's a large file!)

So, it's Christmas time soon! Time flies doesn't it? Well, time flies even faster when you have not done your Christmas gift shopping. Every year the mall gets more crowded as Christmas Day gets nearer round the corner. Perhaps it is because we are all horrible procrastinators and leave everything to the last minute.

This scenario would probably happen:
Days would fly past and you realize you are 12 days to Christmas with nothing to give to your loved ones and then you panic. And then your boss suddenly hands you a huge pile of work just 12 days before Christmas and you think, "Oh no" but that's not the end. You come across my blog and finds out that Jipaban has a next-day delivery option and there's still time to get the presents from the comfort of your home. Not only that, discounts up to 70% for being late in Christmas shopping? That's nice.

Actually my paragraph above is just a filler. The real stuff you should look at is below:

Some of the prices are more than 3 times lesser than the usual price! The deals are amazing!!!

There are all sorts of items suitable for anyone you know. Have you eyed your item? Now that you know the dates, remember to camp in front of your computer the night before to get the item before it gets sold out and if you are too slow, too bad then, you have to go back to squeezing with the crowd at the malls. Haha. With no discounts. Haha.

Meanwhile, checkout Jipaban's Christmas Gift Guide!

8 Degrees Taiwanese Bistro

Found out about this place online and decided to check it out! The place focuses on Taiwanese food and apparently, Jay Chou. If you are familiar with mandopop, "八度空間" is named after one of his album.

Lots of Jay Chou posters in the restaurant, as well as on the menu. His songs were played on loop throughout the meal, which was also pleasant since I like his songs! I used to like him a lot more but not so much recently, especially since he began to date Hannah. I felt that his personality seem to have changed a lot... Maybe it's just age. I don't know how to explain but I preferred his style and character last time.

We ordered bubble milk tea! It was okay, nothing special about it.

There was quite a variety of Taiwanese food in the menu that are commonly found in Taiwan but aren't usually found in other Taiwanese restaurants in Singapore.

We decided to order mostly the standard Taiwanese fare. Ordered the Oyster Meeswa, and we selected the option without Oyster. It's not bad but I think it was not starchy enough, almost feels like Meeswa in soup!

I quite like the Stewed Pork Belly Rice. It has a strong taste which I don't know how to describe! Tried to google but could not find a right adjective... The portion is small though, so I don't think this can be considered a main course.

I like the Salt and Pepper chicken! It was crispy but not hard, not oily, and not too salty. Tastes just right!

The X.O Chee Cheong Fun was disappointing for me. It tastes just like Char Kway Teow, except with rice rolls replacing the kway teow. Bf likes it though.

Overall, I feel that it's a nice place if you are looking to have Taiwanese food!

Yesterday's Outfit

Hello people! Usually I tag my outfit description together with whatever I was blogging about that day but today, I shall dedicate a whole entry to it!

I always see other blogs and they have awesome big bright sharp photos that makes me really want a DSLR too. But besides it being bulky and heavy, I think the most important thing is to have a helpful friend who love photography or has good photography skills to help you take the photos. But most of the time, I'm the only one in my group who is over-enthusiastic in wanting to take photos. Haha. Another thing is, sunlight makes good photos so most of the time I only get great photos during the weekends when I'm out in the day.

This was my outfit yesterday, for a shopping date with bf.

He did not tell me that my fringe was like that in all the photos!!!

My top is from MISSQUEENIE. Wore this out on my birthday 2 months ago and decided to wear it out again to match this floral shorts from LYRAMINN! At first I though the shorts was tiny but it actually fitted well and I think it can fit anyone because of it's highly-stretchable waistband! It's also made of very comfy material~

My nails, done by Tina at Milly's Bugis outlet just a couple of days ago! Was contemplating between black or white lines and settled for black so that is is more outstanding.

Love the pair of shoes I wore! It's quite comfy except that by night time there was a little blister forming at the back of my leg.

Guess how much I bought it for?? $10 at Bugis Street! So happy! There's this $10 rack near the entrance of Bugis Street at level 1 and I always go there to check out what new pieces they have. Most of the time the designs are really horrible but once in a while I find gems like this. My wedges in HERE and HERE and HERE are all $10 from this same rack! Got more but I can't find the photos now. It's not often you find high-heels/high-wedges at such prices. Just yesterday I was at Far East Plaza and I saw so many beautiful high-heels at $10 each. So sad I couldn't grab them all!

I love collecting heels and wedges but no matter how much I like those at Aldo or Charles & Keith, I am not rich enough to splurge on them all the time. So, these $10 shoes are gems to me and they make me very happy too!

Actually when I was putting on those shorts at home, it was quite dark so I thought the wedges were quite matching colors with the shorts but when I stepped out of the house and daylight shone on me, I realize they were different shades. Haha. But nevermind, at least the wedges are same color with some of the petals on the shorts!

Rainbow-Mochi

Okay, despite the title, I'm not blogging about colorful mochi of any sorts. Haha.

In fact, it is not edible at all. Unless you like to eat metal. Or pearls. No, I don't mean the bubble tea pearls.

Loving this stack of bangles that Rainbow-Mochi sent me! Yep, it's the name of an accessories blogshop. You know how usually bangle-stacks are made up of several bangles that don't look too good on their own?  Well, I think I can mix and match some of the bangles in this stack with other existing bangles I have for a different look! I really like the original combination already though. It just goes so well together. Best thing is, Rainbow-Mochi is selling it for only $12!

"Fashion never stops. As a online blogshop owner, we are working hard to keep up with the constantly changing of fashion trends. With the aid of modern technology, it is made easy with updated online editorial inspirations and fashion magazines on styles and trends! Our latest reads are accessorizing ensemble with tassel and chunky items! Thus, we decided to bring in these special picks and share it with everyone!" ~ Rainbow-Mochi

The owners of Rainbow-Mochi believe that accessories are important in everyone's daily life, and they have the ability to complete and glamorize a simple day-to-day outfit. I agree! I always feel that my dressing is incomplete when I do not have my accessories on :(

In order to provide the latest fashion styles and trends, Rainbow-Mochi personally handpick accessories from different places, aiming to provide consumers a convenience one-stop online accessory store. Apart from that, being able to personally handpick all of the items also allow the owners to ensure the quality of the items offered. Other than constant keep up on fashion styles and trends, Rainbow-Mochi also aims to provide the best customer service and trust between them and (potential) customers.

Before I go on, I want to emphasize on something. I really like Rainbow-Mochi's customer service and I felt very happy working with them. They are very polite and efficient in responding back to me too. I think that's one of the major factor shoppers look for in a blogshop nowadays.

All items are in-stock. In any case of any out-of-stock items, Rainbow-Mochi will attempt to restock them or organize a backorder :)

Rainbow-Mochi will be featuring more tassel accessories (chunky tassel chains necklace to vibrant tassel long earrings) and also pretty bangles as well.

Bangkok Jam & Freshness Burger

Actually, while looking at my backlogs to blog, I realize that I have not been doing much except eating and eating and eating. Almost all my upcoming entries are food-related. That's bad. I classify myself under lifestyle blogger but my lifestyle seem to be just eating and eating. Haha. I love food but I don't blog very well about food because the only thing that goes in my mind while eating is "Wah, nice!", "Hmm, average lor." and "Eeee, not nice one. Waste my money tsk!" Lol.

Anyone have any suggestions of what you all want me to blog about? Perhaps maybe something like the "what's in my closet" and "what's in my bag" that I blogged about last time? But I don't have anymore "what's in..." ideas already. What's in my makeup pouch? Nah, boring. It's just the usual few things. What's on my bed? Hmm, can consider. I got many soft toys and they all have their own back story. But I might be labelled crazy after the blog entry. What's in my shoe rack? .... hmm, you all suggest okay! Don't have to be the "What's in my" series. Other ideas are welcomed!

So anyway, it was dating day with bf on one of the weekends and I love my outfit that day! It's this summer florals top from COCCOMOMO and beige scallop hem shorts from LYRAMINN. My photo doesn't really do justice to this pair of shorts. It's so cute! Please go to the link and see if for yourself. Oh ya, as I mentioned before, if you join LYRAMINN's mailing list you get 10% off your purchase! And if you quote "estxie" you get additional 5% off for everything on the website! Means total 15% off every piece. That's not all! Specially for this pair of shorts only, you get 20% off in total by quoting "estxie" & joining mailing list. The price is already very low originally, with all these discounts it's really a good deal!

Let me know if you like this outfit too!

We went to Bangkok Jam at the new Plaza Singapura extension for lunch.

Quite interesting with those road signs and wire cables hanging on top!

The service was okay but the wait for the food was extremely long. Bf got a little pissed but I was all zen. Hahaha, guess I was in a good mood!

Ordered stuffed chicken wings as a side dish. It has glass vermicelli and mushroom inside. I'm not particularly a fan of stuffed chicken wings (I prefer the original), so I don't have much comments about it.

Bf had the Massaman Curry. No idea what is Massaman. The staff didn't know either.

I was tempted by the usual Thai fare but decided on this Prawn Spaghetti in Coconut Base. I'm so happy with my choice! It has a tinge of tom yam in its light gravy, which is a good combination. The sauce is not thick and not too creamy so I really enjoyed the whole dish right till the end. The portion of noodle was quite little though...

I don't know where else I can have this dish again!

Wanted to order Mango Sticky Rice but looking at how slow they take to prepare dishes, we decided not to.

We went to watch a movie and after that we went to Clarke Quay for dinner! Ate at Freshness Burger which was a huge disappointment.

The potato wedges came and it was like half the packet dropped out on the way to the table. Only 4-5 tiny piece  inside!!! We also had the soup which was so-so.

The burgers.... I think Mos burger, Mcdonalds, Carls Jr, and KFC, all cheaper options, are nicer -_-

My choice of tea wasn't to my liking so I exchanged with bf for his classic tea.

Okay, abrupt ending here. I pre-scheduled this post, so if you are reading this as soon as it's published, I'm currently having buffet steamboat + bbq with my family right now to celebrate my parent's wedding anniversary. Nom nom noms!

Sin Heng Bak Kut Teh

For some time already, my boyfriend has been wanting to bring me to this particular Bak Kut Teh eatery. Everytime we eat at other places and I comment that the Bak Kut Teh nice, he will say, "Wait till you try the one I recommend!" Haha. So one fine evening, he brought me and my family to Sin Heng Claypot Bak Kut Teh, an eatery at Joo Chiat.

Table Manners

It's mystery makan day again! This time it was Jacelyn's turn to introduce somewhere nice for dinner! She brought us to Table Manners, located in Changi City Point. Not easy to find the restaurant though.

The ambiance was cozy with dim lights. I heard they also sell their furniture if you like it.

I chose the very boring choice of roasted chicken leg. Sometimes a simple dish can also be a good meal. Changed the salad into mash potato, and it was quite yums. The potato wedge was also good but I was so stuffed at the end due to too much potato. I wish western restaurants have more choices for sides. I always end up with too much potato due to opting out of raw veggies.

Fidelis had the lamb rack. The other two had pork cutlet, funnily called 'Three Little Pigs'.

I think the real highlight of the meal was the desserts! There were quite a number of cakes to choose from.

Fidelis had the Creme Brulee, which was very nice, though the portion seem quite small.

Chocolate tart for Jacelyn!

Nadia had the lemon cheesecake, which had a lemony taste (duh...obviously. haha.)

I had the strawberry shortcake. Very pleased with my choice. The cake was soft and had a light sweet taste. The sourness of the strawberry is a good contrast. I felt that it's quite big though.

Photos of us! Fidelis' hair looked especially lovely that day! Hee, I think she looks good with long hair!

My dress is from www.coccomomo.com! Love the cutting! It has a back with two bows, very cutesy! Check it out on their site!
