Haraju-cute

** Giveaway at end of post!**

Haraju-Cute. What a cute word-play on the Japanese word "Harajuku"! I attended this event by Guardian Health & Beauty on their latest launch of its first ever Haraju-Cute concept at 32 stores island-wide.

"Taking the lead from the trendy Harajuku Culture and fashion enclave in Tokyo, these distinctly decorated Haraju-Cute counters carry 15 cult brands. These Japanese brands are exclusive to Guardian and available for the first time in Singapore."

I will further introduce some below!

See the portrait drawn of me! I like it very much ^_^

Larry Yeo was demonstrating makeup on the cute model and sharing some tips...

... While we tried on the cosmetics available on our desk.

I especially like this La rose de versailles liquid eyeliner! It is very pigmented and glides smoothly.

We also had good Japanese food while playing around the makeup. Super love the mango and prawn sushi.

Whenever I attend beauty events, I always feel so awed by the room full of good looking ladies!

Hayley! Her face very small so I insisted that I need to hide behind her when taking photos. Haha.

Also tried on bottom eyelash from Brigitte.

Not sure if I put in on correctly though... wrong right? Lol.

Photo with pretty clara!

Group photo with some of the attendees and Larry Yeo.

Dress is from Smitten at Jipaban.com! Really love the ribbon print!

Eat At Taipei

We traveled all the way from Pasir Ris to Jurong one day! Siao one! Lol. Jurong is really foreign land to me. I seldom ever step in there.

Lunch was at Eat At Taipei at Jcube. That's a lot of 'at' in one short sentence. haha.

And the chinese signboard is a direct translation of Eat At Taipei. Or maybe Eat At Taipei was a direct translation of the chinese name?

This is my dish! I ordered San Bei Ji. Nice! But i'd order the ala-carte next time, because I don't like the side dish which are preserved canned and cold food. Apparently my friend loves the beancurd thing at the bottom left of the picture (Not a surprise since his fave food are mostly canned food anyway -.- ). They told me that it was a common canned food back then but probably stopped appearing during "my generation". Haha. I'm so glad it wasn't part of my childhood then. Anyway, I also liked that on top of the rice have minced pork!

Their food:

Pan fried fish does not look appetizing but it's quite nice!

Braised pork rice.

Also ordered Yan Shu Ji as side dish. It was very yums but I was too full so I didn't eat many. Now I'm craving for it!

Milk tea. I guess it is not a main item on their menu, as it tasted very 'meh'.

Overall the lunch was good. But then, because it's situated just beside the ice skating rink, the restaurant was really cold! Would love to dine there again.... but it's at Jurong leh -_-"

Red and White

Every public holiday is family day for us. We had planned to have dimsum for lunch on National Day and I was really looking forward to it.

The family is in Red and White to celebrate the nation's birthday! Ladies all in red and my dad was in white.

This one below is my favorite dish that day. It's crispy deep-fried beancurd skin with stuffings inside.

The charsiew bao and custard egg bao was only average. I wonder why the custard egg bao is not yellow?

Glutinous rice in lotus leaf. I like this!

We also ordered two bowls of congee. Century Egg congee and pork ball congee.

Did not really like the steamed beancurd skin rolls.

Yummy fried prawn dumplings! The dishes mostly came in threes instead of fours :(

A must-order for every dimsum meal, steamed ribs. But then the meat is always very little!

I usually like hargao more than siewmai but the siewmai that day was very good!

Went over to Nex afterwards to shop around. Full photo of my dress:

The dress is from http://missqueenie.com

Also had Shihlin chicken cutlet and Jollibean soya bean milk for tea break! Haha. I'm very happy that Shihlin opened a branch at the mrt station near my home!

End abruptly here. Haha. Bye!

The Tiramisu Hero

I was reading Peggy Chang's blog one day and found out that she recently launched The Tiramisu Hero. Decided to give 'MommaHero' a try! I was especially attracted by the lovely packaging!

It's a refreshing dessert for hot days! I like the strong fragrance of espresso as well. Plus, you can customize the wetness and sweetness accordingly.

Everything is Tiramisu but presented differently! For example, cupcake style, in a cup, as a cake, or like the above!

Photos from their web:

I also received this personalized message with my Tiramisu. ^_^

I think they're great as gifts! www.thetiramisuhero.com

So anyway, I went to do my nails at Milly's during the weekend. Sad to say goodbye to the previous pretty design but my nail broke so I had to remove it :(

Changed to plain gelish nails. Love the color :)

Nail-Splash

I depend very much on my nail sponsor Millys for beautiful nails but sometimes my schedule is so packed that I couldn't find time to drop by before important events. That's when I rely on my stash of nail polishes at home.

I've heard that TiNS, a Nail Polish from Japan, contains real diamond dust. Having them on your nails is like wearing diamonds on your nails! TiNS is loved for its glitter nail polishes, so I tried Tins The Saturn sponsored by Nail-Splash!

It is black polish with holographic silver glitter. The glitters look really pretty!

Here's how it looks after painting on nails. I personally think that the color is vivid and application is easy. The shimmer is easily seen in real life but I couldn't capture it on camera.

(The top I'm wearing is from http://coccomomo.com. Fitted at the waist and has a wavy flare at the bottom, it's very flattering!)

If you are afraid of looking too over the top with the glitters, I think this color is great because the glitter is subdued.

For girls who love having pretty nails, rejoice! Nail-Splash is here to bring various nail polish brands to you at affordable prices!

Beyond the popular brands like OPI, China Glaze, Essie and Orly, Nail Splash also carries premium brands. These premium brands include Butter London, Deborah Lippmann, TiNS and Ciate Paint Pots. They also have the colour changing nail polish - Blaze. Sounds interesting!

Here are some information on some of the nail polish brands carried at Nail Splash.

Ciate Paint Pots

Ciate is a 5 FREE brand completely free of formaldehyde, toluene and DBP (dibutyl phthalate), formaldehyde resin, camphor and is even cruelty free (never tested on animals).

Not only is the Paint Pots so lovely looking, the elongated handle enables a significantly enhanced grip for easier application, a 250 bristle flat brush guarantees a flawless even application and the bottle ergonomically designed to sit comfortably in the hand enabling maximum control.

I love Ciate Paint pot colors!!! Don't they look lovely?

Butter London

Butter London is a brand that is no stranger to the fashion industry and runways. Butter London are loved by designers like Alexander Wang, Victoria Beckham, Betsey Johnson, Vena Cava, Calvin Klein, Issa and Rachel Zoe.

This 3 Free (non-toxic) nail lacquers and revolutionary waterless nail services are formulated without the use of the harmful ingredients like Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP or Parabens. Butter London was the first company to sell non-toxic nail lacquer in the United States.

These two colors caught my eye... Yep, I tend to love pink and green shades! These two shades below are really pleasing to the eye!

Deborah Lippmann

Deborah Lippmann is the manicurist to the stars. Some known Deborah Lippmann's polish fans are Sarah Jessica Parker, Reese Witherspoon and Penelope Cruz.

Beside being a 3 free polish, each Lippmann nail lacquer contains green tea extract and protein-enhancing biotin. Its quick-dry formula and tough shine keep your nails chip-free for days.

Of course, don't forget how important it is to protect your nails while you glam them up. Cuticle Oil, Poshe, Seche and many other treatments can be found at Nail Splash too!

While you shop, Nail-Splash also hopes to help you make the best decision. Swatches for the nail colours and reviews on some products are provided on the website as well.

Also, there's a promotion on-going as well!

I love Sundays

Mum wanted to do pedicure last Sunday so I brought her to Far East Plaza! But first, lunch at the chicken rice stall at Level 5! ^_^

The rice is only so-so, but I absolutely love the tender soft chicken and the 'soy sauce'.

Had some things on after that so left her at the salon.

Photos of my outfit that day:

Just a very casual and comfy heart top is from SMITTEN at JIPABAN.COM! Perfectly lovely for a bright Sunny Sunday!

I feel very happy whenever the weekends come, especially because work has been a heavy load in recent weeks. Can't wait to have an holiday!

By the way, at the start of the year I actually wished for more travelling opportunities. And indeed, I've been offered plenty travelling opportunities this year but mostly I can't attend due to conflict of schedule or some other reason!!!! Aiya, I wished for the wrong thing. Shouldn't have said "More travelling OPPORTUNITIES".... Should have omitted the word "Opportunities"! End up now I got "Travelling Opportunities" but no "Travelling"!

Tsk! The importance of using the right words when making a wish. Haha.
