My Nuffnang Story (Pics from 2007! *gasp*)

My Nuffnang Story

Blogging, is a huge part of my life. A lot of my closer friends are bloggers themselves and I really love hanging out with them because I never have to feel shy about whipping out my camera at the dinner table, or taking pictures of ourselves 15 times in a row.

I've been blogging for 5 years already and I have to say that if I were to give up blogging now, there would be a huge empty patch in my heart. I enjoy new experiences and sharing my thoughts and personal life. I love blogging and having an audience.

Here, I share my journey with Nuffnang (who managed me & my blog) and how they played a part in my blogging career. The list below is only some that I managed to find!! Still got lots more not included!

2007
- Joined Nuffnang
At that time, advertising and banner ads was not very common among blogs in Singapore. Then, along came Nuffnang which changed the blogosphere in Singapore.

- First event with Nuffnang
I vividly remember this day. Isaac took part in Nuffnang's National Day movie giveaway and brought me along together with Benjamin!

At that point in time, I have not met most of the bloggers I know today, such as Nadia, Winnie, Peggy, Jayden, etc etc. I didn't talk to them at all that day, but I blogged about it haha. You know how I got to know Jayden? I read his blog a few times way before I became a blogger myself but I did not tell him that. During the event, he asked for a picture and eventually we hung out together with Isaac and I invited him to our joint birthday party and afterwards was history. Haha.

Look at my face. In the past, this kind of face also can attract plenty of readers. Now? Wait long long lor, so many pretty bloggers to compete against. Sigh! Lucky I started out early!!!

From this day, I attended countless movie premieres by invitation from Nuffnang. Great isn't it? ^_^

Fashion across borders

[Guest Editorial]

It is not always easy for people to coordinate high-end fashion with culturally appropriate garments. This is simply because what is popular in one part of the world is not always as popular in others. Different regions tend to define fashion and style in their own unique ways. In particular, much of east Asia tends to keep itself fairly unique when it comes to fashion. However, if you live in or are traveling to this part of the world, you may be interested to learn that there are actually a number of established, high-end fashion options that fit in with far east style. For various examples of these sorts of options, you may want to look into the fashion website My-Wardrobe.com, which is featuring many different fall and winter collections.

For example, the popular designer Malene Birger is featuring several different sorts of winter clothing that could work in established styles all over the world. Take a look at the Victoire Antique Silk Sequinned Gown, which is both unique and fashionable. In addition to displaying common winter colors in simple black and white, this gown also resembles certain traditional Asian garments in its robe-like nature and waist tie. This would be an elegant and fashionable garment for any woman this season.

For another option that could be considered vaguely Japanese in nature and appearance, check out the DKNY “sleeveless scarf cozy blouse,” which, like the previous example, is fairly basic with its black and white color scheme. This item fits loosely and essentially amounts to being an oversized scarf, and sets itself apart by its design patterns. The base color is white, but the borders are lined in black and the majority of the surface is covered in flowing, black floral designs that could be said to give the piece a vaguely Asian appearance.

Once again, it is difficult for fashion, in some senses, to translate across borders. This is simply because different trends take hold in different areas, and the same things are not always popular in different places. However, it is not uncommon for high-end fashion designers to create items that appeal more universally, as they truly do come from the best minds in style and clothing. When you are dealing with respected professionals, you are almost certain to receive a good, lasting and stylish product that you can proudly show off anywhere. The examples listed above – and several others that you could find online – demonstrate how some of these designers can put out clothing that appeals to women all over the world, from New York’s 5th Avenue to the cities of the far East.

Giselle's Closet

I recently modelled for Giselle's Closet, and the new collection with me in it is launched~!

Link

If you like what I'm wearing in this picture, both the top and the red skirt can be found in this new collection. It comes in a wide variation of different colors. Giselle's Closet has plenty of designs suitable for the office, yet each piece have a feature that takes you out of the usual boring style. It's definitely the way to being fashionable at work yet not going over the line of your office's strict dress code.

This dress is named after me! ESTHER. Haha. It's one of my favourite pieces from this collection and I've got the mustard color one for myself! It has a lovely detachable pearl accessory to be hung on the collar area.

The owner also has a penchant for belts and there are many many many belts of different sizes and colors at the site too! I'm sure you will have difficulty choosing one!

Here are some other pieces... but these are not all!

Do check out http://store.gisellescloset.com/ and add yourself to the mailing list for future updates! (Click on Subscribe) And I tell you first, I've had a peek at the other designs coming in for next collection and I must say I totally love the owner's taste in selecting her products!

Beauty, eat, beauty!

Nadia, Me and Fidelis planned our Sunday at Milly's salon together so that we can chat while the manicurists work on making our nails pretty!

Check out Fidelis, and the lovely new decor at Milly's!

The layout is more neat now, and the wallpaper is new and sweet!

I finished my session first so I went to do my hair at Essensuals Bugis. It's just beside Bugis Street, so convenient for me hehe.

Made Fidelis and Jeremy wait so long for me but finally I was done and we drove to a Thai eatery that Fidelis recommended. It is located at Sunshine Plaza. I don't know what is the name of the shop though.

What's thai food without Tom Yum soup?

My fave thai food is Basil Chicken ^_^ The thai food here is indeed nice!

Picture of my sky blue polkadot toe nails! ^_^

And my gelish nails!

Guess what I'm holding on my hand?

It's this product I got from Bugis Essensuals! They say that this will help my hair to be more moisturised, soft and less easily tangled. This product is under the Enrich range from Wella. They have other ranges too! If you are interested, perhaps you can head down to Bugis Essensuals and they will recommend a product suitable for your hair. This is so much better than anyhow buying just any product from the supermarket shelves! You got to know what is good and bad for your type of hair, and Bugis Essensuals will be able to give you such advice. They are located above Burger King beside Bugis Street.

Just wanna share some mandarin song lyrics which I feel are beautiful writings :) Love it! Can you guess which song these lyrics belong to?

~~

Take a chance at love:

~~

These are only the ones that I've not blogged before! In my archives got alot more haha. Will share more in the future! Which one of the above is your favorite? :)
