A Budget Staycation
(aiya, chalet say chalet lah! act-yi-ge staycation!! lol. )




The pillows at Costa Sands resort were really comfy!!! I don't know whether it's because I was too tired or because it really had the right amount of bounce. Anyway, my mum stole my lovely pillow in the middle of the night cos not enough for everyone. Hmmph.


The best part about chalets is the BBQ part. Nothing better than 'unlimited' flow of BBQ chicken wings, stingray, etc.

We had lots of food!
Stingray, satay, sambalsotong, chickenwing, currychicken, otah, porkchop, prawn, hotdog, tw sausage, n cheese hotdog!!

On the first night, we had grandpa, grandma, and my parents friends.

It's not very often that I see my sis from this height. Lol. In fact, she looks cuter this way. She should be short. So tall for what, everyone thought that she's the elder one!




The night was short because I was so tired from work.

Me and sis went for our morning swim!


We woke up abit too late and it was scorching hot. I was so worried for my face so I kept facing one direction (the one that's not facing the sun) throughout. Lol.




For your info, I can't swim. Hahaha. But I like to soak in the water.


Was very tired when we came out of the pool. Don't know why!! Had our breakfast.


We went to walk around Downtown East and played this scratchnwin game at SingaporePools. Cheap fun hehe. Imagine if I so heng I win the $10,000!! But no leh, we only won like $3 and $2.


Then we played this bumperboat thingy cos my little cousin like very gian to play lydat. She twisted the question and asked me "Ni xiang wan mah?" -___- I meanly replied "bu xiang."
Lol. She ask me that question in the hope that if i want to play then she can play also.




It was quite fun!! Each person around $6. Money well spent. (cos not i pay. hahaha)

We could see this from our chalet. My grandpa laughed at the people lugging their large float up the flight of stairs just to slide down for less than 1 min.


Time for PLAY!!!



We tried all the rides once only. Haha. What happened to all the fun rides that we had when I was in secondary school??




The go-kart was the best! Previously I sat in one together with SX and he drove, but this time I drove myself!







We tried kiapping toys but kiap bu dao. :(

All otah and hotdog.. LOL. This is cos I took afew pics at the start of our bbq then I kept my camera already.




See the floors so wet, cos there was heavy downpour when we just started bbq-ing!! But luckily our pot of curry chicken covered the charcoal, so our fire kept burning till the rain stopped. Dad was very proud of it cos he was the one who set up the fire -____-

Do you think I look like my mum or my dad? When I was younger people say I look like dad (cos of my toodtood spects, super flat nose (much worse than now), and super thick lips (which is alot thinner now) but when I grew older people say I look like my mum.

I think that when I take out my makeup my eyes look like my mum's, and I have her slight overbite as well. My nose and mouth remain like my dad's.

But looking at this picture below, I feel that I look neither like any of them!!! Makeup does wonders ^^

Momental Book Meme

I was a bookworm when I was younger. I remembered that books played a huge part in my childhood and I loved the library. I still love books, but I don't read them as much anymore.

This is from what I remembered. Not sure if it's accurate.

First Book Read to Me - The Sly Fox and Red Hen
One of my aunties gave me a whole set of ladybird books. This one the first book read from that set. My maid read it to me.

First 3 Fairytale books I had: Cinderella, Snow White & Sleeping Beauty
Because these were the first 3 my mum bought for me, till now I still have the impression that these 3 are the 3 main princess fairytales. Lol.

Before mum bought these fairytales for me, all the books I read were those "Hansel & Gretel", "Ugly Duckling", "Red Riding Hood" category. Don't have love story one! Mum later told me that she didn't want me to know about those lovelove stuff when I'm so young so she didn't bought those princessy fairytales for me. Till one day in primary school, I had to do a cloze passage question, and I failed badly in it just because I didn't know the Cinderella story AT ALL. I didn't know who was cinderella and I didn't know what the cloze passage was talking about, thus I couldn't fill in the blanks. Apparently all my classmates know the story except me T_T Complained to mum before she went to buy these 3 books for me. hahaha.

First favourite book - The emperor's new clothes
I only liked it because the pictures are cartoonish and nice to look at, unlike the ladybird series which was very country folk drawings.

First favourite character - Noddy
I had the first book, which was "Noddy goes to Toyland". I loved the concept of a Toyland and I remembered till today that Noddy suggested to "build the roof first so that in case it rains, we have a shelter over our heads while building the walls". Lol!

First Book I Coveted - Enid Blyton series
I loved the enid blyton books when I was in primary school. Everytime I go to my friends house, I can sit down and read their enid blyton books for hours. Mum wouldn't buy them for me cos she say expensive. Eventually I managed to collect quite a large collection of enid blyton books through the years (when mum finally relented and bought for me hehehe) Besides their junior series, I also have the more teenage versions that have smaller prints. Loved reading about those magical adventures. Love "The magic faraway tree series" and "The wishing chair".

The Teen Years - Sweet Valley and The Babysitters Club
I was very hooked to these two series when I was in secondary school. I went to libraries and went to the 8 - 12 year old shelves all the time and borrowed these books. For sweetvalley, I read a wide range, from the middle school, junior high to the university series.

Twenties - Lauren Weisberger, Nicholas Sparks
I stopped reading for awhile in my later teens and read many magazines instead. But I picked up reading again recently. These are the books that I read recently: The Devil Wears Prada, The Notebook, Dear John, Everyone Worth Knowning, The Wedding.

Hahahaha ya lah I very into chick lit and romance novels de.

Wanted to KTV so I met up with Fiona!

Wore a blue dress underneath my pink leopard print cardigan :) Both sponsored by theblogshop of course. Very casual for the day cos we are going to the kbox at Ehub, near our home!

My honeylemon which tasted like cough syrup! They went to change another cup for me but still tastes the same, so I think all their honeylemon taste like that. Very erxin, I had to take big gulps throughout the session. Cannot waste leh, paid $6 or $7 for it!!

I usually don't order honeylemon cos I usually choose 'grape milk tea' or something sweet but I was sick that day so I figured it could help to clear my throat.


And this small bowl of COMPULSORY snacks.... guess how much?? SEVEN DOLLARS. CANNOT WASTE, MUST EAT ALL. LOL!! Usually I don't eat the snacks provided by ktv joints cos I don't like junk food but this time I ate alot cos I kept thinking "eh $7 leh!" Hahahaha.



But besides the overpriced food and drinks (which I don't really mind since we are not required to pay cover charge due to the promo, so actually it's quite fair that they go one big round to earn us from the food instead. Yep, I very understand one hahaha ), I had great fun!! I wanna go KTV again soon! All my pass KTV kakis dunoe all fly where already, so long never go KTV together already!


Both of us forgot to bring our xmas gifts for each other. Lol. Actually I secretly think she purposely one. Cos she want find excuse to meet me again. *shy*

Or maybe cos I smsed her beforehand that I forgot to bring so she revenged. Tsk!

(Lucky she doesn't read my blog. Haha!)
